Charter Coffee Morning - Serenades & Sandwiches

Mr Barnes, Principal, was delighted to be joined by Doreen this morning at the coffee morning for residents of Ladywood House. Doreen attended the school back in 1938, when it was still known as St Luke’s and even brought along a picture from her time at the school!
Doreen was enjoying herself so much that she stayed for our second coffee morning of the day, put on for the residents of Regency Nursing Home & Braemar Care Home. Those who attended were serenaded by some of our Year 10 Music students and enjoyed a host of sandwiches and cakes.
“The heart of any community should be its school, where it educates young people in readiness for being the next generation. Charter’s culture is to develop the whole child and building positive relationships between all generations ensures everyone feels valued. It was a pleasure to see students engaging with the local community, which was so well received and I look forward to seeing them all next week” said Mr Barnes.
Here’s to doing it all again next week!
