Due to unforeseen circumstances our Autumn 1 newsletter will be delayed in going out and will be posted the first week back after half term.
We hope you have a good half term and we look forward to seeing you all back on the 29th October for our next ‘Charter Day’. Please note that there will be a slightly later start (10.15am) for students for this day only.
Charter CCF Update
There have been a number of exciting events happening with our Combined Cadet Force in the past week:
On Thursday 12th October five of our cadets had the incredible opportunity to visit the Royal Navy Air Station at Yeovilton. Once there they each got to take part in a 30 minute flight where they flew with an instructor at 5,000 ft, before finishing their flights with victory rolls!
Over the weekend of 13th-15th of October three of our cadets, along with others from around the country, took part in a three day Junior Leadership Course at HMS Collingwood. Each cadet actively participated in a Royal Navy obstacle course, rising to the challenge brilliantly. Over the course they also had to take Part in Navy drill, as well as instructing others in drill and show knowledge and skills in Practical leadership tasks (PLTS).
After a gruelling but enjoyable weekend, we are pleased to announce all three of our cadets passed this course successfully, well done and congratulations!
