Students from Ark Charter have achieved excellent marks in their GCSE results today, highlighting another successful year for the school.
Of the students who completed their GCSEs at the school, 57% achieved grades 9-4 in English and Mathematics and 38% achieved 9 – 5 in English and Mathematics. The results highlight the continued improvement of the school, which was recognised by Ofsted and SIAMS as being a ‘good’ school during the academic year.
Mr Down, Principal of Ark Charter, said, “The school has been on a transformational journey, and these results highlight just how far we have come. Our students are phenomenal and deserve the success they have achieved through these examinations. Our ambition has been to unlock potential and enable our students to progress onto level three college courses and worthwhile apprenticeships. I’m delighted these results mean so many of our children can do this.”
Individual successes included:
Divine-Favour Onwuta, one of the school’s high-performing students, who earned 9 GCSEs and achieved the top grade (9) in GCSE English, Mathematics, Combined Science, Geography, RE and Food Preparation and Nutrition, said: “I am so pleased that I can now go on and study A Level Maths, Spanish and Business. My results required lots of hard work and sleepless nights plus help from the amazing teachers. Thank you, Charter!! In the future I hope to be a lawyer and I am now a step closer to making this happen.”

Sirine Belaiche, 16, achieved grades 7-9 in 9 subjects, including grade 9 in English Literature, Combined Science and French. Sirine plans to study A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at Havant and Southdowns College. She said, “Success comes with hard work, and I have had so much support from my family and from school whilst completing my GCSE’s.”

Het Patel, 16, achieved grades 7-9 in 8 subjects including grade 9 in Mathematics, Combined Science and RE. Het plans to study A-Levels in Computing, Mathematics and Physics at Havant and South Downs College. He said, “Thank you to my teachers. To achieve great grades you must put blood, sweat and tears into everything.”

Sabiha Islam Haffsa, 16, achieved grades 7-9 in 9 subjects including grade 9 in English Language and RE. Sabiha plans to study A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at Portsmouth College. She said, “I am planning on becoming a dentist and these grades enable me to begin that journey. Thank you, Ark Charter, for your support”.

Ark Charter has made impressive strides over the past two years, earning praise from Ofsted for its calm, respectful atmosphere and ambitious curriculum. The December 2024 inspection highlighted strong pastoral care and high standards for behaviour and attitudes toward learning. SIAMS also commended the school’s deeply rooted Christian values, fostering a culture of compassion and aspiration. The school is over subscribed for September 2025 however it will be hosting an open day on the 15th October for prospective year 6 parents.
