Course Options
Subjects at Key Stage 4 are separated into two categories: Core and Optional.
Core subjects are compulsory and will be studied by all pupils. Pupils can also choose up to three optional subjects, based on their assessment results, the guidance they receive from their teachers, and their individual preferences.
Each student must take the core subjects of:
- English literature
- English language
- Mathematics
- Combined science (2 GCSEs) or triple award (3 GCSEs) - most pupils will study for two GCSEs in Science. A small number of pupils will study for three GCSEs in Science.
- Religious Education
- Physical Education (subject not examined)
Pupils must also choose to study either:

- Art
- Languages (pupils on pathway 1 must choose a language)
- Drama
- History
- Geography
- Citizenship
- Music
- Photography
- Physical Education
